  4. My son is 21 months. I am due to have my second child October 2014. Do I start toilet training him now before the new baby comes or wait till after. He already identifies and expresses when he is doing poo's so I know he may be ready to do poo's in a pott

Answer: Hi, There's no problem with starting now if you've got the energy and he's showing an awareness that he wants to do a poo or a pee and is interested as well. Just be mindful that boys tend to be slower than girls when it comes to toilet training and in the cooler months it can be less practical in terms of washing and ease of the child getting undressed to use the toilet. As long as you are patient with him and understand that at 21 months he's still on the lower age spectrum of trying to TT him then go for it. Just expect and this is completely normal when a new baby or change comes into the family that he may well regress for a while, but stay calm and be kind, he's still so little. You may want to check out the TT information on the Huggies site, there's lots of really good and comprehensive information there. And send him to the toilet with his dad if this is possible and take him yourself as well when you go, don't be shy. There's lots of very positive benefits to kids being exposed to role modelling when it comes to toilet training. Best Jane
