Answer: Thanks for your email, I think that the first thing you should do is have your 3 year old checked for hearing, if children can't hear well then they can't learn to talk, so that's always a priority. Kids with a history of frequent ear/nose/throat infections are more at risk of hearing loss. So your GP is a good place to start and perhaps then a referral to an audiologist who specialises in children's hearing would be useful. Then a referral for a speech and language assessment may need to be done by a speech therapist. Again, a check with your GP and referral is needed or alternately, go to your child health centre or local community health centre to fine out what services are available to you. You've done the right thing by checking what you should do, even for your own reassurance a check would be worthwhile. Cheers Jane
