He has started banging his feet against the bottom of his cot

Hi Sally-Anne, Our DS just turned one last week and a few weeks ago started banging his feet against the bottom of his cot when we put him down to bed. He doesnt do it during his morning or afternoon naps its usually a couple of times a week when I put him down for his night sleep. I am not sure if its boredom (although he does have 1-2 little toys, his dummy and his music light show on to help him to go bed) or is it a attention seeking episode??? My husband works permanent afternoon shift and was home one night last week when he could believe what our son was doing. Any advice would be helpful. Regards

Sally...
Answer: Hi, It doesn’t sound like a problem, as long as he is not hurting himself or likely to break anything. He may be bored, he may like the sound of the noise it makes, or it may simply be a soothing activity for him. The fun thing with children is that they all have their own unique and interesting behaviours. Enjoy! All the Best, Sally-Anne
