Fun with a parachute
Age: toddler, child, parent

Stimulate your bubs senses using colour and movement.
Babies love variation in colour and movements. To stimulate their senses try to make a parachute at home by sewing coloured pieces of left over materials together. Try to vary the colour and pattern of the material. A coloured bed sheet may also be used for this game. Lay your baby flat on their back on the ground and lift the sheet high in the air above your baby. Let the sheet slowly fall down towards your baby and lift it up again just before it touches your baby. They will squeal with delight. Keep talking to your baby about the shapes, colours and motion. If you are with friends, try lying one or more babies on the floor in a circle and stretch the sheet above them with all the adults holding a corner. Move the sheet around in a circle and pull it up and down in the air.
