Duration: any

Age: toddler, child

Skill for Bub: Just for fun

summary:

Make your own paint for feet painting and squish away.

Tools of Play:

You will need 2 tablespoons of cornflour, cold water, and 1 cup of boiling water, food colouring, a saucepan, wooden spoon, A3 paper and a large sheet of plastic or plastic tablecloth.

Activity:

This can be a fun alternative to face or hand painting, join in and have some fun too! Blend the cornflour with a little cold water and mix to a smooth paste. Add the boiling water and stir over a low heat until the mixture thickens – add some food colouring and mix thoroughly. Cover an outdoor area with a large sheet of plastic or a plastic tablecloth, and put some sheets of A3 paper down on top.

Let your child draw pictures on the A3 paper with their feet. Encourage them to squish the paint between their toes but make sure there is a bucket of warm soapy water on hand for cleaning up.
