Didn't see the article, but my family has the BRCA1 Gene deformity. I have the pathology slip to go get tested but haven't quite got the nerve to go through with it yet. I know if it is positive I have a 90% chance of getting breast cancer and roughly 60% chance of cervical cancer if I do nothing about it - scary stuff.

Hi there. Maybe you could try keeping him up a little longer in the morning, maybe stretch him out by 15 minutes every couple of days til maybe he goes down at 9.30am. Also have you tried any resettling techniques in the cot, ie, patting, bodyrock, gripe water, or white noise?

Don't feel bad. Breastfeeding is very stressful and if you can't relax whilst doing it, it's just not going to work for you anyway. We all know that ultimately breastfeeding is best, but at the end of the day you know what's best for you and your child. Goodluck

I honestly think Gripe water worked better for settling than Calm did. And I think Gripe water tastes better too!

I have just gone through this recently with my 7 month old DS, he was waking frequently during the night and couldn't resettle himself either. I took the dummy away cold turkey. Started with his first day sleep, settled him by just patting his back and leaving the room intermittently until he finally settled, it can take some time to settle to start with but don't give up. That night he slept through and he is now able to self settle himself. If you want more info or advice you can message me if you like, Goodluck!

Thanks for your reply. I keep him up for 3 hours in the morning which is a bit of a stretch, ds is 7 months old. I think if i tried to keep him up any later he would be beside himself. Thanks again

My ds wakes every morning wanting to start the day at roughly 5am, he is not at all hungry and it doesn't seem to matter what time bedtime is! We have tried: letting him cry, patting him, white noise, dummy (he doesn't usually have one), putting him into bed with us I don't mind that he's an early riser, but it just throws any kind of routine out the window. He goes back down for a sleep when most babies are just waking up for the day! I think i've tried everything, but am open to any other suggestions Thanks in advance

You could try some diluted prune juice. Also could it be the type of formula he is on? I have heard s26 is especially constipating. To prevent constipation you can add an extra 10mls of water to each bottle as this can help. Goodluck

I have lost 10.5kg in the past 10 weeks and now weigh 3kg less than I did before I fell pregnant with 7 month old DS (I was a comfortable size 16 pre DS). BUT I went shopping today as I have barely any clothes that fit properly and came home with nothing!!! I couldn't even squeeze into any size 16 jeans and came home feeling fat and depressed, really took the shine out of my weightloss. I know that my body shape has probably changed, but are sizes getting smaller?
