Old topics being dragged up... Rss

Does this get to anyone else or just me?
Yep its annoying <img src='https://www.huggies.com.au/forum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dry.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='<_<' /> just want to put my hand through the screen and slap these people laugh now..do I sound like a b!tch? laugh

ETA ~ Im talking about the 'advertising' people smile
Yes I notice it but tolerate it.
What does annoy me is the longer-time members who don't like things that new members do, say, bring up new topics that old members have discussed before new members even new this site existed!

Sheesh! You're such a b!tch Marmy! tongue wink laugh
I actually think it's funny when someone replies to a post from 2007! I guess with things being a little stagnant people are trawling through old posts? On the other hand someone commented the other day that it was annoying when people create topics that have already been done so...

Your mind is a garden, your thoughts are the seeds,
You can grow flowers or you can grow weeds.

I do think most of these old topics are probably being brought up by new members.
Me being a new member myself just started a topic about prams for running, i have just done a search on it and have seen that this has been talked about before.
But maybe there are new opinions, new products that have been tryed etc....

Well maybe you can start a topic about that smile

Oh no i dont mean discussing an old topic, ive done that myself!! grin

I mean a topic that was posted say 12 mths ago and someone comments on it, bring it back up etc. You can see the dates it was last commented on.

AND i wasnt discriminating between new or old members. Its been bothering me for awhile and i dont necersserily (sp?) know whos brought it back.
I used to do that when I first started on huggies laugh laugh

I didnt realise that there was a date on the top of the posts and would just answer anything I found.... then I realised what I had done!!

So I have a bit of a chuckle when I see a new member do it rather than be annoyed and think thats okay sweetie, like me you will work it out. laugh

Maybe I could smile Watch this space...

I think some people take a while to get used to the site as well - finding their way round, esp if you havn't used a forum before.

(Took me ages to work out how to reply to posts - I kind of feel dumb now cos it is quite obvious - but that is life!)

I find it a bit annoying but thats probably my own fault cos I read it and then look at the date laugh

Depends on what the topic is. tongue

To be fair, I have dragged some up myself before, only because they sometimes contain useful information or to update something that I had been asked about...but usually not if it is past a certain time frame unless it contains really useful information.

Generally, if it has been dragged up to 'have a go' that annoys me, but sometimes it's an honest mistake to rehash a post that is several months old.

I don't think everyone uses the option that shows them the list of the active topics, and instead they just browse the categories until they find something that interests them. (and obviously don't check the date)
Not really a biggie is it? Some topics are worth revisiting sometimes!
