*sob* Worst shopping ever... Rss

So... I was fitted at my local and loayally patronaged underwear boutique on the weekend, and walked away with two bras I was told would fit like a glove and wear like a dream...

*cue dramatic music*

Went home, and put the hotmilk one on (soo pretty) andwent to bed... and less than 10 munites later, it feels like my chest is rubbed a million ways wrong with sandpaper, and upon turning the light on, I find that the bra is cutting in when I lie down, leaving red marks under my arms, and under the bust... *sigh* So, there goes one bra I can't wear... back to bed in my old underwire...

Next day, I decide enough is enough and I am taking this bra back... And I eye the other one.. I put it on... and it's not too bad... I keep feeling like I'm going to fall out the front, and the arms chafe a bit, but I offer it a fair trial till I make it to the store...

Get there, and miracles of miracles, a professional fitter (like, form one of the bra companies) is there, as part of a promo, and overhears my moaning to the staff. Takes me in the fitting room, and asks to see the one i have one. Well, apparently I was fitted completely wrong, for both of them. She measures and hums, and toddles off, returning with lets face it, not the most flattering bra, but once I tried it on, I was in nirvana.

I swap the hotmilk for this one, and was about to ask for a store credit, when bra number two is inspected, and I am informed due to a tiny drop of blood (I mean tiny here) that must have happened during the falling out for the umpteenth time and my following adjusting, I cannot refund or return...

Fair.. but still disappointing... I mean they could have fitted me right in the first place, and I wouldn't be saddled with this bra...

I'm thinking Ebay... It's a brand new, and minor issues...

/end rant
I'm sorry to hear you couldn't return the bra. I'd definatly try to sell it on Ebay or gumtree. Don't know if people sell underwear on there but I wouldn't be surprised if they did. No listing fees for a simple add on there and I only give my email address not home address or phone numbers.
Arrgh I hate it when things like this happens!

I think Ebay would be good but I'm sure you'll only get about half (if that) of what you paid for it if the tags were removed... which sucks.
I would be contacting the store manager and if it is a large chain boutique their head office make a formal complaint that because of their staffs mistake you are stuck with an expensive ill fitting bra that caused an injury. They fitted you and inadvertently injured you resulting in that spot of blood being present on the bra. Had they correctly fitted you there wouldn't have been an injury and you would have been happy with your purchases. Surely something more can be done other than you being out of pocket.

I agree Creative_Ness!!!

I hate buying bras, too, and I've been really disappointed with a couple of maternity bras I've bought - they make you look so frumpy.

If it helps, I can recommend the Bravado bras the ABA sell on their website. They're a multi-size bra, made from really lovely firm elastic fabric. I've been wearing mine for the last three months of pregnancy, and I've not had a single rub mark or sore spot anywhere, even though my girls have gone up three cup sizes already! I expect they'll explode totally in the next fortnight (birth is imminent), but having bought a Medium and a Large, I know the Large will expand enough to accomodate another two or three cup sizes. Honestly, they won't jab you or make you bleed (yowza), and if they don't work for you, you can send them back after trying them on in your bedroom smile

I know this sounds like a wildly commercial plug, but it's not - I just found a great product that's really worth paying for. Good luck.

Hi I have hate bra shopping as no-one as ever fitted me correctly, then I got invited to a friends INTIMO PARTY, for the 1st time EVER I was fitted correctly and walked away with having booked my own party which I ended up recieving 1 FREE BRA, 1 HALF PRICE. Now I'm a consultant for Intimo!! heres the link to the website, http://www.intimo.com.au/shop/category/new-releases click on contact us and they will put you in contact with your local consultant who will go out of her way to help you!! You can either have a private fitting or ask her the benefits of hosting a presentation, I assure you its worth holding 1!!smile

it sucks when this sort of thing happens and i agree with other surely theres something more they can do for you about the drop of blood bra that was result of their incorrect fitting.
but just another suggestion, maybe dont sleep in maternity bras esp hotmilk or similar frilly ones as theyre not designed for it at all theyre for day wear not sleeping. i sleep in a maternity sports bra, its way more confortable and it still holds the breastpads in fine for night leaking, or one of those hidden support crop tops (like the ones made by BONDS) are also fantastic for sleeping in. well thats just my experience anyway smile

Oh yes, and these are beautiful bras, too. The fit is excellent, and the quality really lovely. If you have a party, you can have a great night with your girl-pals, a few bubblies, a bit of a laugh - I went to an Intimo party with my mum and we had a ball.
Ahh good ol ebay lol. Bras are the worst piece of clothing to shop for! <img src='https://www.huggies.com.au/forum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dry.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='<_<' />
I really dont think there is enough training anymore for these bra stores- they must be all doing there own in-house training ( i think bras n things does). The more boutique/ david jones and myers tend to get training through either Berlie or triumph (or both).

I am a trained Bra fitter, back in the day i worked for a dept store called Allens ( which has since been sold to Harris Scarfe) and we had full on training there. I was trained through Berlei and Triumph (at different times) they have different ways of doing it but both are good! I also worked for david jones in the lingerie dept too doing fittings smile

I can now look at person and tell if they are in the wrong bra!
This was a long time ago now (around 2002-2004)but i still know my stuff!

Hey sorry for the essay! lol

have you tried ahh bra??
