Well with DD1 I lost my plug and three days later I was induced with no signs of labour.
With DS I had a C-section and no plug prior to that.
With DD2 I lost my plug and 30 mins. later she was born.
As you can see its different each time and doesn't always mean labour will immediately follow!

for me i lost the plug then about a week later labour started.
