Playing with poo Rss

I understand why he is doing it but I'm not sure how to deal with it.
For the last few days every time DS goes to bed he will have a poo and play with it. He smears himself and his bedroom. He use to call us through the baby gate letting us know he has done a poo and needs a change. Now he keeps very quiet and makes the worse mess imaginable.
I know it is an attention thing as we have a newborn in the house. It's an adjustment for us all.
Any advice pls.

Young people learn from experience. So who are we to try and stop them

I'd get a baby monitor.you poor things can't be much fun sad.

He was toilet training himself during the day. He no longer uses the toilet and refuses when we try to encourage him. Since bringing bub home he has gone backwards.

We will try again in a few mths when things settle.
I think we will put a monitor in his room just to see if we can stop this behavior. Thanks.

I have a totally different approach to the pp, first I would like to say I know it is hard to juggle your time with a new born, can you give him some time one on one, when someone else can care for bubs. Even if you have to make bit of a show of sorry bubby it's ds turn now daddy will have to give you a cuddle. Etc. really play up that he has all of your attention. Also as much as possible ignore the poo mess. Clean it up and him but don't talk to him about it. ie no attention for bad behaviour. But lots of attention for good things even if it is a little over the top.

Hope this helps good luck sad wacko mellow
