Ear piercing for my Ds Lock Rss

My Ds is 9 and wants an earing! I have said no wait till your a bit older.
But the little bugger made a good point.. He said but mum you let the girls get their ears pierced! What could i say to that?
He is right.. Whats the difference?
Do you think there is a difference at what age boys/girls get thier ears pierced? And would you let your son?

Thoughts??
IMO i dont like earring on males. But in saying that he does have a very valid arguement in that his sisters have there ears done and im assuming they are younger??

If its what he really wants than i would let him do it. I think earrings are ok on anyone who is old enough to ask for it and realise what they are asking for. My DD who is 3 asks and i wont get hers done for a few more years until she understands more.

I think i would let my son get one at 9 - but in saying that DH would probably rip it out so i would have to take that into account as well.
I used to work as a body piercer and we saw boys of all ages coming in getting one or two pierced. Alot got them done with there dad tho, which i thought was cool smile

Im all for waiting as long as possible before letting kids get there ears pierced but its what you feel comfortable with smile

yes , he does have a valid point but I dont like earrings on boys and dont have girls to validate that reason lol so no advice, hope you work it out.what does your other half say?

I made my daughter wait until her 10th birthday to get her ears done.
I wouldnt get my sons done as I dont like it and I think my DH would rip it out anyway.

My other half and i split up last week. He has not seen the kids since.
But when we were together he said he didnt mind. So thats not really an issue.
I dont know what i think really.
But as i let the girls get done at a younger age i suppose i dont have much choice. <img src='https://www.huggies.com.au/forum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dry.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='<_<' />
I'd let him get it done. It sounds like it would suit his personality if thats what he wants to do, like character building. Its not really something he could regret doing because he can always take it out later.
Its a common thing to see these days so its not weird or anything.

sorry to hear that, tell him it hurts and he would have to look after it and maybe compromise and tell him for his next birthday as a present.I still dont know - my kids dont like or want earrings( atm lol) so still no advice. What is the school rule on it?

I have said on your next birthday last year!! lol
And the school is fine as long as its a stud or sleeper only.
He is a nutbag my son. He rides motocross and is very active. Wears his hats sideways etc. But he is a very good child and an excellent student. So i have no real reason for him not to get it.
Looks like its off to the ear piercing lady!!
My DF thinks its girly for a boy to wear an earring roll eyes but I dont care because when he gets to that age where he REALLY wants one..then so be it grin

Sounds like he would suit an earring then! grin
You better take him on the weekend for his treat as you missed the bithday lol
