Brushing 1st tooth Lock Rss

Ok, so my 6mth old just got her 1st little tooth & i'm wondering when do i start to brush it? Also, what products do I use?

I have the same problem, I have an 8 month old who just got his first two teeth. I brought him an oral B toothbrush that says it is for 4 - 24 month olds and also got him some toothpaste- colgate 'my first toothpaste', which says that it is for children up to 6 years old. But the toothpaste says not to let them swallow it, that they sure should rinse and spit, not sure how you are suppose to get a baby to do that, so havn't started yet! Maybe you just brush with water at first??

just use a brush with the smallest head you can find, no toothpaste, just water. it is important to start brushing even 1 tooth so that bub gets used to it and it is not a major drama (or at least not as much) when they get older.

DS is 8mths n hasnt got any yet, but i not complaining as he is bf!!

I started brushin bubs 1st tooth with colgate my first toothbrush and toothpaste the day it broke through and he loves it but being on tank water(no flouride) my plunket and doc have told me not to rinse it.
Plunket advised us to use 6 years + toothpaste as the baby's stuff does not have enough flouride in it, but your area might not have an issue with flouride in the water. Plunket also gave us a toothbrush at out 5 month visit, but I dont intend to use that until he is older. He cut his 1st tooth yesterday at 5.5 months. I no at New World u can buy a pack of 3 toothbrushes, think it pegion (sp?) brand, and it has stage 1, 2, 3 toothbrushes. They r great, and I find stage 1 good for him to chew on as its rubbery.
