how do i push out my child without my little precious angle getting stuck again.
my last bubba got stuck on its was coming into the world and i want to prevent it.
Answer: Hi, This really depends on the reasons why your first baby was "stuck". The position of the baby's head, the size of the mother's pelvis, progress of labour, size of the baby - all these issues play a part in how an individual labour and delivery proceeds. Many women, with their first baby have a longer labour and more challenging time pushing the baby out and with subsequent deliveries it's quicker and easier. But of course every woman and her baby/labour/birth are unique and it's important not to compare. There is little you can do in a direct way to manage the outcome of your baby's birth. Though active birth and positioning of the mother can make a big difference. What's important is that you speak with your maternity care provider, who knows you and your obstetric history and see if there's anything you can do at this time to influence your next labour and delivery. If you had a forceps or vacuum delivery last time then this is not a sure sign that you'll need this again. Best Jane
