I have been told Im postive for group B strep, if the waters break as the head is crowning is the baby still at risk?, what if they are born in the caul- whats the risk to the baby then?
Answer: Hi, THe antibiotics that are given do act very quickly so usualy the baby is covered. The problems associated with this bacteria are very rare and so there is a very small chance of infection occurring. The baby is still at risk if the head is crowning and the baby is born in the caul. Best wishes, Alex
