The only way to stop him crying is to pick him up and rock him to sleep
My 7 month old baby is waking in the night to play in his cot. I leave him and after about an hour he starts crying. The only way to stop him is to pick him up and rock him to sleep. This can go on for another hour. I have started to leave him crying, leaving him longer each night. Last night I left him for 1/2 hour solid crying and he is now starting to lose his voice. Will this work?? Do you have any other suggestions.
I would reccommend you follow our It`s Time To Sleep settling program as it offers a clear and repetitive message that it`s time to sleep. When he wakes during the night immeditately go into the techniques as baby learns from repetition. It will no doubt involve protest and crying from him and yes even a hoarse voice sometimes but it should only take a week or so, if you continue to rock him back to sleep or allow him to continue to play this will become his regular habit.
